In the spring of 2016, in a hall in Seoul, a machine played a move that changed how people thought about intelligence.
The game was Go, one of the oldest and most complex board games in the world. The player was an AI system. Its opponent was Lee Sedol, one of the greatest Go players of his generation.
On move thirty-seven, the machine placed a stone in a spot no human expert would have chosen. Commentators were confused. Lee Sedol stood up, shook his head and left the room.
He was not defeated by a trick. He was shown a door. The machine had found a path through the game that pure human intuition had never uncovered.
Some commentators called the move inhuman. We disagree. It was not inhuman; it was more than human. It showed what becomes possible when human intuition and machine insight meet in the same room.
That is the idea our company is built on. We are not here to replace human thinking. We are here to extend it.
This is why we are called M37. It is a daily reminder of what is possible when people stop treating AI as competition and start treating it as a collaborator.
